Lilia Panoga
I'm Lilia Panoga and I am forty-eight years old. I am married to Ignacio, and we have eight children. On October 8, 2005, I repented of my sins and trusted Christ as my personal Saviour. Before I knew and accepted Christ as my personal Savior, I never felt real joy in life, which is only found in serving the Lord. My pastor, Roger Carton, was the one who shared the Word of God with me and told me how to go to heaven when I die. He was the one who led me to Christ. One day when I was working at home, someone outside was knocking on the door and asking if there was anyone inside the house. When I got to the door, I saw a man with a Bible in his hand, smiling at me. He said to me, "I just have something very important to share with you from the Word of God. I'll tell you how you can go to heaven when you die." Being curious as to what he was talking about, I let him come inside my house. I then called my husband so he could also hear what the man with the Bible was going to share with me. I was surprised when he and my husband saw each other because they knew each other already. Then Pastor Roger said, "Last week when I finished teaching the children a Bible story, I met your husband. It was then that I had the privilege to share with him the Word of God. Your husband got saved last week and is now going to heaven when he dies. I want to share with you also how you can go to heaven when you die." So Pastor Roger clearly explained to me that I'm a sinner and that I deserve to go to hell when I die unless I repented of my sins and accepted Christ as my Savior. I bowed my head in my house, and repented of my sins and accepted the Lord Jesus as my personal Savior. My husband and I really felt a distinct joy at that time, after accepting Jesus as my personal Savior. Not long after that, Pastor Roger requested that if my husband and I would like to, we could conduct a regular Bible study in our home. I had no doubts and my husband let him do so. Now we have a regular weekly schedule for our church services. We now have church services every Sunday morning and afternoon; we also have a midweek service every Wednesday afternoon. We still do not have a church building; the church services are being held in our house every week. We just invite our friends and neighbors to attend church services that occur weekly. We are the first family that Pastor Roger led to Christ in St. Cruz. My family is joyfully and faithfully serving the lord. I really thank the Lord for using Pastor Roger to lead me and my family to the Lord. I love my Pastor very much as the man of the Lord and always support him in prayer. (I feel like he could be my son because my oldest child Pepito is just nine months older than Pastor Roger.) I thank God for sending Pastor Roger to lead my family to Christ.
