Partner Mark Holmes
Truth Baptist Church Abuja, Nigeria Mark Holmes was saved at 10 years old in July 1989, about three months after his father died and about nine months after his family first started going to church. He was called to preach at his first youth conference at First Baptist Church, Hammond in July 1994. After his high school graduation, he enrolled at Hyles-Anderson College; it was there where he fully surrendered to God to serve Him anywhere. He heard testimonies from many missionaries, especially several in Nigeria. He spent an extra year at HAC taking missions courses, started on staff with his sending church in May 2001, and got married in August of that year. He and his wife Sabrina started their two-year deputation in May 2003, and they served with a veteran missionary for almost a year. Truth Baptist Church was started on May 14, 2006. Temple Baptist Institute (part-time) now has 37 graduates. 16 churches have been started by those trained or ordained through their ministry. Providence Baptist College and Seminary will graduate 14 in August 2013. The church is currently building an auditorium and a house for the Holmes family. Their ultimate goal is for their church plants to reproduce themselves. In 2013, Global Baptist Church Planters partnered with Bro. Holmes to start four new churches in Nigeria. |
