There are many more like Rubelyn lost in the darkness of sin. Will you help us reach them with the Gospel?
How Can I Help
Pastors, contact us today to schedule a Global Baptist Church Planters representative to visit your church.
I am Rubelyn Demayo from Fundamental Baptist Church, Badiangan Ajuy. Before I met Pastor Jomel Herica, I heard that he was going house-to-house to share the Word of God in our barangay.
One day he came to my house and told me about salvation. God touched my heart and I confessed my sins, accepted Jesus and believed on Him as my Lord and personal Saviour. When I got saved, I believe God wrote my name in the Book of Life.
Pastor Jomel invited me to attend the next Sunday service, but I didn't go because our town's market day is on Sunday. I have a small store and selling cigarettes and alcohol was our main source of income. When Sunday arrived, I rode my motorcycle to the store and almost had a wreck. Immediately, I remembered Pastor saying, "Sunday is for God," so I drove to the church. When Pastor Herica saw me, he smiled and introduced his wife. After church I felt welcome and happy to be there.
Each Saturday, Pastor and Mrs. Herica came to my house. He talked to me about baptism, and I obeyed the Lord and got baptized. He also talked to me about cigarettes and alcohol. He said God would not be pleased with me if I sold these items, so I promised God that I wouldn't sell alcohol anymore, but I kept selling cigarettes. Even though I was disobedient in this one thing, I always attended church and brought visitors to prayer meeting. However, I knew God wasn't pleased since I would not completely surrender to Him.
Because of my hard heart, God spanked me; my daughter got appendicitis and needed surgery. Pastor said to me, "Don't worry. Just pray to God." God answered my prayer, and we were able to get the money for her surgery. I promised Him I would stop selling cigarettes, and I'm so thankful God spared my daughter's life.
Now I'm a Sunday school teacher and soulwinner. Every Sunday I bring more visitors, as well as my family; they are also saved. Mrs. Herida started a small Christian kindergarten, and I'm helping with this ministry as well.
I'm so thankful God used Pastor Jomel and his wife to bring me to God, and I am happy in His work. I believe God when the Bible says, "Our labor is not in vain."
