Timoteo Regacho
By the time a lost man reaches the age of seventy, he has developed many bad habits. I enjoyed gambling at cock fights, collecting idols, and trying to "out do" others in various, sinful ways most of my life. When my son Romeo, a Baptist pastor, tried to talk to me about salvation, selfish, foolish pride took over, and I resisted his pleas to come to know the Lord as my Saviour. Although he held Bible studies in my home, I ignored the lessons and continued my stubborn behavior. Eventually, I became very sick and developed high blood pressure. The doctors told me that I had a fifty percent chance of dying. Because of my serious blood pressure condition, I lost my sight, and my world forever changed. I could no longer take care of myself and required help in all I did. I was totally blind, and this shocked me. My loving son came to stay with me and continued talking to me about the Lord. He explained that I was also blinded to the truth of my lost condition and God's Word. Finally, God gave me spiritual sight, and I accepted the gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. Although I cannot literally see my surroundings, God has opened my eyes after seventy years of being spiritually blind. I am so happy, because when I die, I will go to heaven and see my Lord. I am happily serving Him and claiming His promises. The words, "only one life, so soon it will pass, only what's done for Christ will last, only one chance to do His will, so give to Jesus all your days, it's the only life that pays, when you recall you have but one life" are so true. Although I can't see my Bible, I can quote my life verse: "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21 The Process How your donations are reaching the lost.
