Our Leadership

President jay reed

Jay Reed serves as the President of Global Baptist Church Planters and has been the senior pastor of Peachtree Road Baptist Church in Suwanee, Georgia since 2010. Under his leadership, GBCP was relocated to PRBC in 2010 and has grown steadily by forging partnerships with missionaries, raising funds, and strategically advancing the cause of global church planting.

Born in Texas and raised in Florida, Jay pursued his theological education at Hyles-Anderson College in Indiana. Over the years, he served in pastoral roles at Open Door Baptist Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana, and at Northwest Bible Baptist Church in Elgin, Illinois, before coming to Georgia.

Since 2010, Jay has led GBCP with a clear mandate: to equip missionaries, support pastors trained to establish indigenous churches, and mobilize the American church to engage more deeply in church planting efforts. His oversight ensures accountability, strategic resource deployment, and expanding impact in emerging mission fields.

Jay and his wife, Shannon, were married in 1995, and they are blessed with five children, all of whom are actively serving in churches and ministries throughout the country.

Director Austin reed

Austin Reed serves as the Director of Global Baptist Church Planters. He joined GBCP in 2023 with a heart to strengthen and expand the global church-planting movement.

Austin first sensed God’s call to preach as a child during a missions conference. Years later, while assisting a church plant in Indiana in 2022, the Lord confirmed his burden to invest his life in church planting. Before stepping into his current role, Austin served as the Assistant Pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Terre Haute, Indiana, under the leadership of Pastor Kevin Szwarga.

Under his leadership, GBCP’s church-planting impact has more than doubled during his first two years. The ministry continues to assist American missionaries worldwide by providing funding and logistical support to the national pastors they have trained. Austin also travels regularly to visit church planters across multiple countries, helping ensure that resources are used effectively and that churches are established on a firm biblical foundation.

Driven by a clear vision, Austin aims to see 1000 new churches planted through GBCP by the end of 2027, and to start 100 new churches each year by 2030. His leadership reflects a passion for both faithfulness to the Great Commission and excellence in stewardship.

Austin and his wife, Leah, were married in 2018 and make their home in Suwanee, Georgia. They have three children — Landon (2020), Olivia (2022), and Elaina (2024).
